Susan is currently the Art and Family and  Consumer Science instructor at Wheatland High School She earned her art degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1994. Her passion is teaching art and art history and chooses watercolor as her favorite media. The piece, Harvest, was inspired by the corn that is raised and consumed in the Perkins County area Her students last year created a series of corn sculptures, an icon they chose that touched nearly everyone in the area in some was. The exhibit was entitled Cornstock 2003, and was featured on KNOB-TV in December. Susan hopes to retire someday and in her spare time be a docent for young people in an art museum.
