I have chosen to paint landscapes and mythological related subjects because they have interested me since I was a child. Books such as the Iliad, Gilgamesh and The Odyssey are all ancient texts dealing with heroes and villains and the relationship with good and evil. My goal is to depict scenes that may resemble some sort of mythological based subject matter or event with the incorporation of beautiful landscapes. My paintings are not based on actual myths, but my style and subject matter will closely resemble them. I guess I am trying to escape from today's fast paced world, as I continually find myself at peace creating works involving nature and ancient times. I want to leave reality behind for a second, and take the viewer to a world where the imagination can be set free.
