Jack Stevens, a
lifetime resident in Perkins County, NE, attended school there and a
semester at University of Nebraska at Lincoln; however, he never
studied art. He started welding on the family farm as a child and in
later years worked as a certified welder in millwright and farm repair.
He found his medium in recycled metals, and the challenge and
satisfaction of transforming scrap metals into realistic stylized
sculpture has been his motivation. Size and material has been the
limiting factor. |
