Don Buchanan is a resident of Madrid, attended school there, art being
one of his favorite classes. He has resided there all his life except
for the two years he spent in Germany during his tour of duty in the
army. While there,
he had the opportunity to visit many of the
castles, art galleries and the
beautiful scenery throughout Germany, Austria, and
France. This created
an experience that would not have been
possible except for being stationed in
Europe
and the many weekend and three day passes which were available to
him. |

During the fall of 1962, Mrs. Julian
McClanahan from Venango taught
classes in charcoal, watercolor, acrylics and
oil. This gave him a chance to work with the different mediums and learn
more about them. During the
past few years Don has attended work shops in the Bob Ross
"wet on wet"
technique from two different instructors, both being Bob
Ross Certified,
Rachelle Eversole from Bridgeport and Sharon Rodaman from Cairo. Some
of Dons' paintings can be found in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and
Colorado.
